The brief
ITC wanted a workplace that reflected its regional roots and its commitment to inclusion, while meeting the needs of a large, contemporary corporate team.
Design response
Terracotta textures, latticework, local weaves and handcrafts appear throughout, used with restraint so that they read as part of the architecture. A circulation spine becomes a gallery of the company's history, and a collaboration zone pays tribute to Bengal's literary heritage and to women's empowerment.
Layouts encourage collaboration and accessibility, and natural materials sit alongside current workplace infrastructure.
Rooted in Bengal
The reception sets the tone with a sweeping terracotta lattice screen and illuminated niches. A white desk sits beneath a cantilevered canopy detailed with folk-inspired line art.
A corridor that tells a story
The main circulation spine works as a gallery. One side carries a timeline of ITC's milestones in circular backlit niches; the other opens through arched partitions to a quiet nook with cane seating and a mural of the Howrah Bridge.
